Simple Kids Bowling Game Is Easy To Win
The Action Bowling application by Kronos is a great kids bowling game for children who have autism. While this audience was not anywhere in Kronos’s target market, it’s still a great game for these kids. There is no negative feedback whatsoever, i.e., your child might get a bad score, but he won’t really know it. Also, it’s extremely easy to bowl near-perfect games once you teach your child the basics. For children with ASD, this is a great game to learn the basics of bowling before going out to a real alley.
Settings and Controls
Regarding the controls, there is something I must warn parents about. Do not let your child read the controls, because the instructions say to hold the device securely and swing it like a bowling ball. Your iPhone will break very quickly if you have your child stick with the default method. What works better? Tapping the bowling ball. (This is a much better alternative for kids on the spectrum.) I recommend not changing any of the other settings unless you need to alter the music or sound effects for some reason.
Free Version Versus Paid Version
The paid version of Action Bowling does not really add anything major to the game. (Not that your child with autism would care about, anyway.) The paid version does give you more bowling ball choices (the above ball looks a bit like an angry bird, don’t you think?) and different bowling alleys, which can definitely add a little spice to your life for only $2.99. But, if you’re on a budget, stick with the free version – it will keep kids occupied and save you money at the same time. We love FREE autism apps – Strike!
