Peapod Labs: ABC App Series

Peapod Labs, like many of our favorite developers, started out with the goal of helping those with developmental and learning disorders.  Unlike some developers, however, they have a very defined set of values that guide them in their work.  You can see these values when you use their ABC App Series.

One of my favorite things about Peapod Labs is that they say, “digital tools are a complement, not a replacement.”  This reminds all of us that these great apps are only effective learning tools if these kids are guided in the right direction!

You can’t just plop your child down in front of an iPad and expect him to learn with the apps that you have provided!  These individuals still need guidance from real people, and Peapod Labs knows this and builds their apps with this in mind.

Another thing that makes Peapod Labs great is that they recognize the fact that “learning has to be fun” for kids.  If learning isn’t fun, then there probably won’t be very much learning going on at all.  That’s why Peapod Labs only makes apps that are entertaining and wonderfully enjoyable to learn from and play with!  Check out their apps below!

Who’s Behind Autism Plugged In?

Who’s Behind Autism Plugged In?

My name is Jack Kieffer and I'm a blogger sharing my love of technology at blogs like Cool Gizmo Toys, Greenamajigger, and here at Autism Plugged In where I'm trying to make a difference in the lives of children with autism.

Several years ago, I began volunteering with special needs kids, who gave me much joy and an appreciation for life. This blog is my way of giving back. Any proceeds from this effort are used to support my friends with autism. Read more about Jack or connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
